Tesco Express at St Olaves Precinct on the Howard Estate in Bury St Edmunds set to open next summer

A Tesco Express is due to open on a Bury St Edmunds estate next summer.

The store on the Howard Estate is set to open after three shops are converted into one at 1-3 St Olaves Precinct.

Today, Tesco was granted permission to install three air conditioning units and a fan gas cooler at the back of the premises.

In April, L&C Investments Ltd gained planning permission to transform the three shops including a SPAR into one for the Tesco Express.

A licence to sell alcohol has been granted.

Asked about an opening date, a Tesco spokesperson said: “We’re always looking for the best ways to serve local communities and are excited to be opening a new Tesco Express store in St Olaves Precinct, Bury St Edmunds.

“We will keep the local community updated with our plans as we get closer to opening in summer next year.”
