Bury St Edmunds’ Moyse’s Hall Museum clock may fall silent due to electrical cabling works

A town clock may fall silent for a week due to electrical cabling works.

Repairs to the cabling at Moyse’s Hall Museum, in Bury St Edmunds, will start on Monday.

The works will not affect the clock directly, but the museum said it will use this as an opportunity to check the workings of the clock as well.

The clock, which dates back to the 1860s, chimes every 15 minutes.

It may fall silent for a week while it is being inspected and occasionally before the repairs begin.
