Suffolk Police officers on why and how neighbourhood policing helps tackle crime

Two serving members of Suffolk Constabulary have highlighted the vital importance of working in the community to tackle crime during the first Neighbourhood Policing Week.

Beginning on Monday, the nationwide campaign aims to promote the work community police officers do in their areas, by liaising with key stakeholders to tackle the root causes of crime.

Suffolk News spoke to Richard Smith, Community Engagement Officer for Ipswich West and Sgt Brian Calver, Rural Crime Officer, to ask why and how community policing was important to them.
