Micks Cycles, in St John’s Street, Bury St Edmunds, celebrates 55th anniversary with bicycle giveaway
A family-run cycle shop in Bury St Edmunds has marked its 55th anniversary by giving away two bikes to customers
The winner of the children’s bike competition was Ruben Cathell, with Scott Stevens winning in the adult category.
Chloe from Micks Cycles, in St John’s Street, said Ruben and Scott were ‘thrilled’ when they were told they had won.
The shop marked its anniversary with a birthday party, on May 31.
“It meant so much that we had so many people join us on our birthday,”said Chloe.
At the event, Micks Cycles had a string of old photos hanging up showing the timeline of the shop, starting in the 1970s.
Chloe said her highlight from the day was chatting everyone about the history and memories of ,her grandfather, Mick who started the shop.
“We had so many people saying that they remembered Mick helping them out and selling them mopeds.
“As he died before I was born, I love hearing all of these stories about him.”
