Kings Arms in Bury St Edmunds could be set for series of refurbishment works in new plans

A Bury St Edmunds town centre pub could be set for a series of refurbishment works.

Greene King has submitted plans to West Suffolk Council for inside and outside the Kings Arms, in Brentgovel Street.

The proposals include a full refurbishment of the toilets with a new floor, wall finishes, lighting and vanity units.

The garden area is also set to be given a new lease of life.

The pergola would be redecorated with new festoon lighting and heaters and the seating retained and repaired.

The fixed seating opposite the pergola would be adapted to one long run rather than individual booths and fixed to a raised deck area.

A sail shade is proposed above the seating, which may need to be fixed to the building.

A metal perforated black sheet would be added to the entrance gates to hide bins from the street view.

Meanwhile, The Dog and Partridge, in Crown Street, Bury, is temporarily closed for a refurbishment to its beer garden.

The pub posted on its Facebook Page to say it would be shut until March 28 for the works.
