Bury St Edmunds town centre unit in Churchgate Street goes on the market

The town centre site of a former hair salon has gone on the market - with interest being shown in its future use.

The retail unit at 43-45 Churchgate Street, Bury St Edmunds, was previously occupied by Abigail Hayden Hair.

The salon, originally founded in 2018, moved to the location from Whiting Street in January 2023 and celebrated its first anniversary there earlier this year.

The 1,711 sg ft retail unit went on the market in March.

Agents Merrifields say the premises could still be used as a hairdressing salon, for retail or hospitality.

A spokesman said interest has already been shown from businesses in the professional services and restaurant industry sectors.

The property is described as having a ground floor open plan space in the ‘heart of the medieval grid of Bury St Edmunds town centre’, with a ‘wide shop front with full height glazing.’

The rent is £29,500 per annum and the rateable value is £19,500.

Abigail Hayden Hair was approached for comment.
