A Bury St Edmunds town councillor is due to play a part in a live televised leadership debate on Sky News tomorrow night.

Cllr Tom Murray will travel to London to be part of the audience and quiz Tory leadership candidates Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss about the problems people face accessing NHS dentistry.

Cllr Murray said today: "I'm certainly interested to hear what they have to say as it is a problem which affects many people."

Cllr Murray has been told he will be able to ask his question – in 2018 we lost our My Dentist practice in King's Road and we have since struggled to get NHS dentistry, what will you do about it? – during the head-to-head debate.

"This is a big problem affecting a lot of people," said Cllr Murray.

"The town has brilliant private dentists, but it is the cost. The dental contract with the NHS is rubbish and it has been out of date for years."
