Bury St Edmunds’ Wickes a step closer as St Edmundsbury Retail Park outlet signs plans submitted to West Suffolk Council
A town’s new Wickes outlet has moved a step closer as signage plans were lodged with a council.
On February 28, SuffolkNews revealed the DIY chain had purchased the lease for Bury St Edmunds’ Homebase, at the St Edmundsbury Retail Park in Easlea Road, which closed after the company fell into administration.
Now, Mark Craft, on behalf of Wickes, has applied to West Suffolk Council to redesign the front of the building to reflect its new occupants.
The central Homebase sign, between two columns, will be replaced with that of Wickes.
Meanwhile, to the left of this, three new signs are detailed.
In the centre of the left panel would be another larger Wickes sign, either side of which would be a ‘Home Improvement Centre’ and a ‘Kitchen and Bathrooms, Design & Installation’ panel.
On the left side of the building, further into Easlea Road, will be another Wickes sign.
All former Homebase employees will remain in their jobs as Wickes team members.
