Bury St Edmunds roads including Parkway, Tayfen Road, Fornham Road and Newmarket Road at standstill

Long queues of traffic have been reported in a town centre as ongoing repair works have resulted in gridlocked roads.

The AA Traffic Map is showing high volumes of traffic in Parkway, Bury St Edmunds, heading down Tayfen Road and along Fornham Road.

This follows Suffolk Highways installing temporary traffic lights at the crossroads in Newmarket Road to facilitate emergency gas repair works.

These traffic lights are due to be in place until Thursday, December 19.
