Bury St Edmunds’ Tour Guides achieve another record-breaking year

Bury Tour Guides have achieved another record-breaking year, having sold out all the slots for one of their offerings.

The town’s Ghostly and Macabre tours are no longer available, however the group is now gearing up for its popular Masters of the Air Tour, on March 23.

Last year, more than 600 people took this opportunity to find out what the town was like during World War Two and visit the Operations Room and the Guildhall.

Alongside this, the Tour Guides will be running a dog-friendly event on March 16.

John Saunders, marketing officer, said: “We can now only squeeze in group tours, so there is still an opportunity for friends and families not to end up disappointed.

“This year has brought us many people from beyond Suffolk which shows that our reputation is spreading.

“The Guides are also starting their 11 am daily tours of the Abbey and town on 1 April and bookings are already coming in.”

John added the Guides are also preparing some new tours, the details of which will be announced during the year.
