Mildenhall's next generation broadband network goes live

More news, no ads

Homes and businesses in around Mildenhall can now access internet speeds 17 times quicker than the UK average thanks to a new broadband network.

The new service, provided by independent broadband specialist Trooli, has taken its service to 3,800 properties in Mildenhall, West Row, Beck Row and Worlington.

The service takes a full fibre connection directly into a customer’s premises delivering a guaranteed minimum speed of up to 900Mbps. Packages offering 300Mbps or 500Mbps are also available to homes and businesses.

Andy Conibere, Trooli's chief executive officer, said: "Although access to full fibre broadband has grown significantly over the past year, we know it is still only available to 21 per cent of households in rural West Suffolk.

“We are aiming to help put that situation right and to provide many more residents and businesses in smaller communities with access to the type of ultrafast, reliable internet connection that is so integral to modern life.”

Unlike most internet providers, Trooli does not rely on historic copper telephone cabling to deliver its service. Instead, the company installs a fibre connection directly into properties, allowing for guaranteed ultrafast speeds and greater reliability.

The company, launched in 2018, is on target to provide their service to 170,000 properties by the end of 2021, rising to 400,000 in 2022 and one million in 2024.
