Tractor drivers pit their ploughing wits during society match in Ingham

The 11th annual ploughing match of the Suffolk Vintage Ploughing Society took place in Ingham on Sunday.

Land belonging to Oliver Stennett and Ben Turner, of Ampton Estates, saw 65 tractors from Norfolk, Suffolk, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Lincolnshire take to the field during the damp match.

Paul Rowe, chairman of the society, said: “I thought the match proved a great success for all involved, that’s why there is always a good turnout of drivers.”

Sections which drivers of the tractors took part in during the match included Classic Tractor, Vintage/ Mounted Tractors.

The Best Trailed and Best All Round Champion accolades were won by Shaun Garrod.
