Stowlangtoft Hall residents Jean Curr, Kathleen Fraser-Harrison and Marguerite Seal celebrated their birthdays with a triple party on Tuesday, enjoying entertainment, dancing, a birthday cake and party food laid on for residents, family and friends.

The three women all moved to Suffolk later in life. Mrs Curr was born in Northern Ireland but moved from the family farm to seek a better life in London.

Mrs Fraser-Harrison – who said her secret to a long and healthy life was ‘a little tipple now and again’ – moved from rural Pembrokeshire to open a dress shop in Liverpool, before retiring in Suffolk to be close to her family.

Mrs Seal grew up in London and raised her two children there, before moving to Suffolk.

Sally Chilvers, Stowlangtoft Hall manager, said: “It was wonderful two years ago to have these amazing women reach their 100th birthdays, so to be able to celebrate with them all again this week is a tribute to their strength and determination.

“We were delighted to help our fantastic residents celebrate this amazing milestone.”
