Two directors at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds to step down

Two directors at West Suffolk Hospital are to step down from their roles due to personal reasons and retirement.

Dr Nick Jenkins, medical director at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, and Helen Beck, chief operating officer, will leave their roles in the coming months.

Dr Steve Dunn, chief executive of the Bury St Edmunds hospital's trust, said: "On behalf of the board I would like to thank both Nick and Helen for their dedication and leadership over many years."

Dr Jenkins will leave his role at the end of next month for personal reasons relating to family illness but will remain at the trust as a part-time emergency department consultant.

Ms Beck will retire at the end of November and a successor is expected to be appointed to start in December.

Dr Dunn added: "We are pleased that Nick will remain as a valuable member of the trust’s consultant body and we wish Helen all the very best for her retirement at the end of the year."
