Single-car crash in Bury Road, Lavenham, between Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury, sees two people taken to West Suffolk Hospital

Two people were taken to hospital after a car overturned on a key route.

Suffolk Police was alerted at 6.06pm yesterday to the single-car crash in Bury Road, Lavenham.

A police spokesperson said two people were taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds but not by the ambulance service, which was called.

The road was blocked and then closed by the police.

Suffolk Highways was called due to a substance in the road.
