Update: Large fire breaks out in industrial building in Stowmarket

Firefighters tackled a factory fire yesterday in Stowmarket.

Fire crews from across Suffolk were called to the fire at the Muntons Maltings Factory yesterday at 12.59pm, ten fire engines were called to the scene.

Smoke was seen coming from cladding on the fourth floor of the industrial building. When firefighters arrived they stripped away the cladding in order to get to the fire.

A drone was also used to spot any thermal activity to see if the fire had spread.

The fire service stood down at 5.44pm yesterday.
