Van driver released under investigation after two-vehicle crash on A143 outside Great Barton, near Bury St Edmunds




A van driver has been released under investigation following a two-vehicle crash that closed a key road.

Police were called at 7.50am on October 31 to the A143 outside Great Barton, near Bury St Edmunds, after a collision between a van and a motorcycle.

A motorcyclist and a van driver failed a roadside drug test.

The van driver was arrested at the scene and has been released under investigation pending the results of a blood sample analysis.

The motorcyclist was taken to West Suffolk Hospital with a leg injury and consented to a sample of his blood being taken in hospital.

A Suffolk police spokesperson said they are waiting for the outcome of the blood tests before they take any further action.
