Woolpit, near Bury St Edmunds, Christmas pantomime is a family affair
A festive pantomime that opens in a village later this month has become a family affair.
Nearly half of the cast of Woolpit Drama Club’s production of Snow White are related.
Parents will take to the stage with children while cousins will dazzle audiences at Woolpit Village Hall between November 20 and 23.
Of the 29 cast members, 14 are related.
Paul Gort, drama club chairman, said: “We have always felt Woolpit Drama Club is a bit like a family, but never has this been more true than for this year’s pantomime production.”
Snow White is Woolpit Drama Club’s first panto for 15 years.
All cast members auditioned in August and have been rehearsing since September.
Meryl, who also wrote the script, said: “Everyone in the cast, whether related or not, is really talented.
“They are ready to sing, dance and act their socks off.
“I can’t wait for audiences to see the show. They can expect to see some fantastic song and dance numbers, plenty of comedy and all of the important panto ingredients.”
