The Fox Inn at Honington, near Bury St Edmunds, has shut and hunt is on for new tenant
A village pub has closed after only being open for a couple of months.
The Fox Inn at Honington, near Bury St Edmunds, was reopened by tenant Ryan O’Shea who said he would do his best to ‘keep it alive’ with the support of the community.
However, about a week before New Year, the pub shut.
The previous publican to run it was Carol Griggs, who opened the Fox in October 2023.
The pub is understood to have been shut for a number of months before Mr O’Shea reopened it.
The freehold of the Fox, in Troston Road, is owned by Roisin Margey and Timothy Healy, of Public Inns Partnership, which is based in Waltham Cross.
They also have the Woolpack, in Debenham, the Plough at Sutton, near Woodbridge, and the Globe, in Wisbech.
Public Inns Partnership is looking for a new tenant for the Fox Inn at Honington and hopes to open it in early February.
