The Fox, in Station Road, Elmswell, could get a makeover under new Greene King plans
A village pub could receive a makeover under new plans submitted to a council.
Greene King has submitted revamp proposals for The Fox, in Station Road, Elmswell, to Mid Suffolk District Council.
The Bury St Edmunds brewing giant wants to enhance the outside of the pub by removing the existing car park pergola and replace it with new planters and trellis fencing.
The proposals outline the brewery’s aims to boost accessibility into the venue with the main dining area door being moved to the side of the pub, to which customers will be guided by signs.
An accessible toilet will be introduced using some of the space from an existing entrance door from the car park – which will be blocked off – and the men’s toilets.
There will be a decorative pergola and outside Indian sandstone paving introduced to form a level access.
The play equipment in the garden will be removed.
A new back garden covered pergola will be built to give more outside seating which can be used in all weathers.
There will be a ramp up into this.
The pub will have a new smoking shelter to the right of its sports and television room, in its back yard.
