Walsham-Le-Willows sports pavilion, between Bury St Edmunds and Eye, submits expansion bid to Mid Suffolk District Council

A village sports pavilion has submitted a bid for expansion.

Mike Powles, the chairman of Walsham-Le-Willows Sports Club, has submitted a bid to extend the existing gym building in Summer Road.

A planning statement says the extension is needed due to the increasing popularity of the gym.

It would be located north of the existing building and delivered alongside the construction of a container to be used for match-day refreshments.

An LED screen would be put up outside the main clubhouse and used to display match-day information and scores.

The application is now being considered by Mid Suffolk District Council planners and has been given the decision deadline of June 11.
