Elmswell Green Week gets under way with art exhibition and open garden




Villagers kicked off Elmswell Green Week with an art exhibition and open garden on Saturday.

The celebration of everything villagers are doing to improve the local environment and tackle climate change runs until Sunday.

The event is part of the wider national Great Big Green Week.

On Saturday, a week-long exhibition by members of Elmswell Art Club and ElmsWild opened at Wesley Coffee shop. and a wild garden open afternoon was held at Willow House, when packets of wildflower seeds were given away.

On Friday there will be an Air Quality Action demonstration at Crown Mill, from 3.30-4.45pm, when parents and children will encourage drivers waiting at the level crossing to turn off their engines.

On Sunday, a Great Big Green Litter Pick will be held at Blackbourne, from 10am-noon.
