See IMAGINE degree show in Bury St Edmunds created by graphics and art students from University Studies at West Suffolk College
A new exhibition of work encompassing everything from rave culture to Richard the Lionheart and illustration to insects has opened in Bury St Edmunds this week.
IMAGINE is a showcase of graduate work from BA(Hons) Graphic Communication and BA(Hons) Art Practice students at University Studies at West Suffolk College.
It is free to enter and can be viewed at the University Professional Development Centre, in Western Way, until October during college opening hours.
Sian Horn, course director for BA Hons Graphic Communications, said: “The show is a culmination of the students’ work demonstrating their creativity, curiosity and talent as designers and art practitioners.
“Three of our students have already got jobs in industry before they have graduated and 80 per cent of our learners received first class honours last year. So visitors to the exhibition are in for a treat and I hope it inspires them to consider starting a degree with us.”
Glenn Pickering, course leader for BA Hons Art Practice at University Studies at West Suffolk College, said: “People should come and see the exhibition. It’s a real mix of creativity on show and it gives a flavour of the talent that we support here at University Studies.”
One of the exhibitors Maia Sivaraj, 22, from Halesworth, is studying on a graphics communications course.
Maia said: “My work on display is a beauty brand called Blossom. If you are finishing GCSEs and A-levels and you want to see what creative degree work looks like, I think it would be fun to come along. It’s a real variety - which is really nice.”
