Visitors enjoy all the fun of the first Ickworth Country Fayre

The inaugural Ickworth Country Estate Fayre saw thousands of people visit the National Trust site.

The event last weekend celebrated all the skills and traditions of the Suffolk country estate.

Abbi Lang, the senior visitor experience marketing officer of the estate, said: “It was a fantastic atmosphere with so many people commenting on the variety of entertainment and stalls.

“Although it was very hot, thousands visited across the two days to see activities and we look forward to doing it all again next year.”

Visitors got the chance to learn about various aspects of the 1,800 acre estate including bee keeping, blacksmithing, wood milling and the skills of the ground’s garden team.

The Country Estate Fayre is a development of the popular Wool Fair which which has been a staple event there for four years.

To honour this, sheep rearing and sheepdog trials were on show as well as Woodbine Alpacas, showcasing the products made with their wool.

Children enjoyed a variety of activities too, including a a storytelling village, 1930s games, archery and traditional fairground rides.
