Vitec opens its new building on Moreton Hall
A long-standing Bury St Edmunds firm has opened its new facility on Moreton Hall.
Vitec Production Solutions has moved into a new 66,000 sq ft premises in Easlea Road from its former Western Way building.
The firm, which was formerly known as Vinten, makes teleprompting and broadcast camera support brands and has had a presence in Bury for the past 54 years.
The Vinten name continues as a flagship brand within the organisation, making manual and robotic camera support systems and accessories.
Elaine Vinten, wife of Bill Vinten, son of the company founder William Vinten, cut the ribbon to officially open the William Vinten building on Thursday.
The company employs around 200 people at the Easlea Road site and has a presence in 11 countries around the world.
One of Bury’s longest serving employees is Ian Kizis who joined in 1976 as an apprentice. The development technician said: “Over the years I’ve been very fortunate to have worked with great mentors who have advanced my career in engineering and R & D. The new facility is fantastic. It’s a great place to work and opens an exciting new chapter for our division.”

William Vinten set up his company in 1910 making the world’s first colour projectors, and in 1964 Vintens moved from Cricklewood in London to Bury.
