Volunteers create hampers for guests at Christmas Day lunch in Stowmarket

Volunteers created 85 hampers to be given to guests who attended a Christmas Day lunch in Stowmarket.

The hampers were filled with food and treats ahead of the fifth annual event, organised by Jam Community Pot, at Stowmarket United Reformed Church.

Organiser Michelle Frost said: “The hampers were so well received last year. There are enough treats and food to get through a couple of days while places are shut.”

They were able to make the hampers following a donation from Stowmarket Lions, fund-raising by Jam and items donated to a reverse advent calendar arranged by pupils at Sebert Wood Community Primary School in Bury.

They were expecting to feed 120 guests and volunteers at the lunch.
