Diane Walker, co-organiser of the exhibition, said: “It’s amazing that it’s finally up and running. Seeing some of the elderly people coming in that have only just discovered that they were illegitimate children of American GIs and they’re seeing their stories written up – it’s really touching.”

There will also be activities for children throughout the exhibition.
