Bury St Edmunds sees (a little bit) of snow
It was not much, but it sill counts.
This morning (Thursday, January 17) Bury St Edmunds saw its first snow of the year.
West Suffolk was the first part of the east to be touched by a light shower at around 8am.
Snow also touched Finningham and Framlingham in Mid-Suffolk, as well as parts of Essex.
To the disappointment of some, and relief of others, the snow did not set.
Cold weather is expected to continue into tonight and tomorrow (Friday).
A forecast from the Met Office said: "A few wintry showers will be continuing across the far northeast, these tending to die from midnight.
"Otherwise it will be dry with predominantly clear skies and light winds, leading to a very cold night, a widespread frost and patches of ice. Minimum temperature -4 °C."
