Flying Fortress park, in Bury St Edmunds, partially closed due to wasp nest

Part of a play park has been closed for the weekend due to a wasp nest.

West Suffolk Council has taped off an area at the Flying Fortress park, on Moreton Hall, in Bury St Edmunds, while the nest is treated.

It comes shortly after the park’s rope swings were repaired following vandalism in May and a recent meeting held there between police and residents to address anti-social behaviour.

A council spokesperson said the park should fully reopen by the end of the weekend.
