Temporary traffic lights in Mount Road, on the Moreton Hall estate, Bury St Edmunds, set to be in place until next week
Motorists are being warned that traffic lights along a key route into Bury St Edmunds are set to be in place until next week.
The temporary traffic controls are in place at the Mount Road and Lady Miriam Way roundabout, on the Moreton Hall estate, in connection with UK Power Networks (UKPN) works in nearby Bradbrook Close.
A spokesperson for UKPN said the lights were necessary for the installation of a new connection and upgrades to the local network.
“We expect the lights to be cleared by Monday, June 16. We apologise for the inconvenience caused,” said the spokesperson.
Letters sent to residents and organisations said the works were part of an infrastructure upgrade between the Hollow Road and St Botolph’s Lane substations, which would see contractors Kier excavating trenches to lay pipework and pulling through new underground cables.
The overall project, between Wren Close and the roundabout, is scheduled to last until July 7.
