On Point Barbers set to come back to Bury St Edmunds after taking over new site in Risbygate street
A highly-popular Bury St Edmunds barbers which had to move out of a gym complex in August, just two months after moving in, has announced it has found a new home in the town.
On Point Barbers, which was once based in the Sports Direct Fitness gym, in Easlea Road on the Moreton Hall estate, before their landlords closed the site at short notice, will be taking over one of the units in the former Bowers Motorcycles site in Risbygate Street.
Barbershop entrepreneurs Oli Norman, 21, and Brodie Nurse, 25, said it was a great feeling to be coming back into town.
Brodie said “We can’t wait and are really excited about it. It has not been too long since we left but it does feel like a bit of a relief to have found the right place for us and hopefully our customers.”
Oli added: “It will also be really good to cut the hair of those that supported us on Moreton Hall, as a lot of them have followed us to the other shop in Elmswell – which we are massively grateful for.
“It will be great to get back into the town, making it easier for them to get to us and for us to gain more customers as we go.”
The pair hope to have four chairs in the barbers to start off with, with the possibility of adding another as the business progresses.
Oli said: “It was a bit nerve-racking, after all that happened at Moreton Hall, to even think about opening another shop, but we gave it a little bit of time to find the right place and we are buzzing to get going again.
“The support we received from everyone really got us to get our heads down and find a new place in Bury and we would like to thank everyone for their love, support and loyalty to us throughout it.”
The pair have said they are hoping to open their new Risbygate Street barbers in the new year.
