Bay Tree Café in St John’s Street, Bury St Edmunds, wins Good Food Award 2024/25




A town’s popular café that has gone ‘from strength to strength’ has won a prestigious award.

Bay Tree Café in St John’s Street, Bury St Edmunds, has been named as a 2024/25 Good Food Award winner with a Blue Ribbon.

The awards recognise establishments across the UK who strive for excellence looking at food quality, service and value - with the prestigious Blue Ribbon being bestowed upon those with high customer ratings and votes from the public.

Owned by couple Alex and Lisa Rotherham, the café recently made it to the regional finals in the annual Muddy Stilettos Awards and also received the Tripadvisor Travelers Choice Award 2024.

Alex said: “With October being our busiest month on record since taking over 21 months ago, we continue to go from strength to strength.”

“We are really proud and excited to be the only café in Bury to receive the award.”

Other eateries in Suffolk to receive a Blue Ribbon include Spice Lounge in Mildenhall and Baltic Amer Restaurant and Bar in Haverhill while The Grill At Twenty5 in Ipswich was awarded a Gold Seal.
