Lee said: “We are extremely proud to be announcing that we will be opening our first restaurant in Whiting Street, Bury St Edmunds.

“We get the keys just after the summer and pending a few applications from the local authorities, we plan to be open by the end of the year.

“The restaurant is going to be a live fire steakhouse, offering prime cuts of meat cooked in front of you on one of our famous asado grills.

“A dry aged fridge will also be installed where you can pick which exact steak you want.

“We want to continue our street food vibe so a range of exclusive burgers and smoke meats will be on the menu with hand crafted cocktails available to drink whilst dining.

“In regards to our mobile catering, both vans will still be on the road hitting the markets, festivals etc and available to book for private and corporate events.”

Meat & Greet BBQ initially sold uncooked meats which had been seasoned with spice blends from all across the world.

The Covid pandemic saw the business begin to grow rapidly – with Lee delivering high-quality meats around the clock, direct to customers’ doors and helping people in need to get food they required.

In 2021, the business started to develop and take a different turn after many of customers asked for a street food element.

With Lee having a passion for being behind the grill; already owning several BBQs and cooking outdoors on them all year-round.

Using the best cuts of meat, seasoned with fresh blends of herbs & spices cooked over local lump wood charcoal, Meat & Greet BBQ came alive in the summer 2021.

Lee now visits everything from festivals to Ipswich Town FC, outdoor cinemas, pub ‘pop ups’, markets, corporate events, christenings, weddings, birthday parties.

Lee added: We really can’t wait to be opening the doors to all of you and sure there will a lot of blood, sweat and tears before.”

Meat & Greet also runs a collection service where people can pick up ingredients to cook at home.

It also visits Bury and Mildenhall markets weekly.

Meanwhile, Baskervilles, underground bar & gin lounge which currently occupies the site has announced in will be closing at the end of August - and serving drinks until then.

It said: “Some of you may have seen the exciting news that another local business is set to take over our beautiful bar after the summer.

“After four years of hand-crafting beautiful cocktails, hosting evenings of entertainment and of course meeting so many wonderful people along the way, we’ve made the decision to write a new chapter and hang up our hospitality hat for a little while.

“We felt it would be best to go out with a real bang this summer before embarking on an exciting new journey and so we’d like to take a moment to say a huge THANK YOU to each and every guest that’s passed over our threshold, it has been an absolute pleasure.”
