Baileys 2 in Bury St Edmunds crowned readers’ favourite café in Suffolk

Readers have crowned Suffolk’s favourite café following a poll which gathered more than 3,000 votes.

Baileys 2 in Whiting Street, Bury St Edmunds, has triumphed with 35 per cent of voters choosing the café as their number one coffee spot from our list of 10 cafés from across the county.

Husband and wife owners Dean, 43, and Louise Foster, 39, took on the business in 2009 and said they were delighted to have won the poll.

“It’s a real surprise to have won,” Louise said. “We’re completely overwhelmed by just how many people voted for us.

“It just goes to show we have such amazing and loyal customers, some of whom have been visiting for the past 15 years since we’ve been here.

“Thank you so much to everyone who voted, we really appreciate everyone’s support and it’s lovely to get a bit of recognition.”

The nominations poured in and the top 10 most-suggested contenders were selected from Bury, Haverhill, Newmarket, Ipswich, and Sudbury.
