Risby woman celebrates raising over £6,500 for Sarcoma UK after London Marathon





A woman from Risby, near Bury St Edmunds, is celebrating after raising just over £6,500 for a cancer charity.

Lisa Lumley ran the London Marathon on April 23 for Sarcoma UK after several of her loved ones battled the disease.

She said: “It’s a huge amount of money and I just wanted to thank everybody. We’ve done it together.

“It’s a good feeling and Sarcoma UK is so under-funded.”

For Lisa, running the marathon was a great experience.

“It was great fun. The crowd were amazing – really encouraging and supportive. It was a lovely atmosphere.”

Lisa is involved in the Theatre Royal’s charity fashion show for Suffolk Barnardo's which is being held this evening and she’s also organising a tennis tournament to raise funds for the children’s charity in the summer.
