Bury St Edmunds named as one of the best places in the UK for a holiday this summer
Bury St Edmunds has been named as one of the best places for a staycation this summer.
In a list compiled by Muddy Stilettos, the West Suffolk town has been named in the top 23 places for a holiday in the UK.
Analysing what the town had to offer, they said: "Fancy something a little more under the radar? Suffolk’s historic market town was a major player in the Medieval ages and today enjoys a Michelin-star restaurant, a thriving arts scene, and independent shops aplenty."
Norwich and Southend-on-Sea were the only other places from the East of England to be named in the list.
Muddy Stilettos said the wide range of food and drink options, as well as the independent shops in Abbeygate Street, were a must-visit when in Bury.
The town was also named as one of the best places to live in Suffolk earlier this year.
