Westley Campus becomes the School of Rock

Preparing to put on a musical at The Apex is a big event, especially when you are the first school in Suffolk to be licensed to put on Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s School of Rock.

Bury St Edmunds All Through Trust Westley Campus is busy rehearsing with a cast of 80 pupils who will be performing at The Apex on Wednesday July 19.

Head teacher Mr Nick Templeton said they have embraced this challenge with not only a very busy rehearsal schedule but with raising money by selling ice creams in school, a quiz night, t-shirts and asking local companies for sponsorship.

Head boy Monty Riddick plays the lead role of Dewy Finn an out-of-work rock guitarist who pretends to be a substitute teacher and starts a band of fifth graders.
