Where in Suffolk to see Red Arrows during King's birthday flypast

Here’s how Suffolk residents may be able to spot a military flypast, including the Red Arrows, to mark the King’s birthday celebrations today.

Although King Charles III was born on November 14, The King's Official Birthday is being marked today with a royal flyover of 34 aircraft.

Before heading to London for the official Trooping the Colour celebrations, the aircraft will form up off the Suffolk coast — making this one of the best regions in the country to catch a glimpse of the display.

Anyone hoping to witness the spectacle should keep an eye on the skies between 11am and 1pm.

Top viewing spots include beaches in Lowestoft and Southwold which sit directly along the projected flight path which can be seen on an interactive map below.

There is also a map showing The Red Arrows’ route, setting off near Lincoln at 12.30pm and set to soar over Woodbridge Airfield at around 12.53pm.

Ipswich residents may also catch sight of the formation overhead with the Orwell Bridge viewpoint car park offering one of the clearest views.

After passing over Ipswich, the aircraft will follow the A12 southbound and leave Suffolk by around 1.25pm.

Timings and routes could change due to weather or other requirements.
