Ed Byrne tries out Suffolk County at the Nethergate Shop and Tap Room in Bury St Edmunds before his show at The Apex

A well-known Irish stand-up comedian and actor stopped by a Suffolk tap room last night for a quick pint before performing in the town as part of his UK tour.

Ed Byrne, best known for his multiple appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe and being a former panelist on hit BBC TV show Mock the Week, stopped by the Nethergate Tap Room in The Traverse, Bury St Edmunds, before taking to the stage at The Apex for one of his dates on his Tragedy Plus Time tour.

The funny man, who has enjoyed huge critical and popular success with his comedy in the UK and Ireland, posted a picture of himself drinking the brewery’s Best Bitter, Suffolk County, with support act Emmanuel Sonubi.

Ed has been regularly posting his #preshowpint pictures during his tour, testing the local tipples in the likes of Huddersfield, Frome, Chorley and Aldershot.

If you missed Ed performing this time round, he will be returning to Bury St Edmunds on June 30, 2024 – check out The Apex website for more information.
