Amy Norman, of Derwent Close, Bury St Edmunds, fined and handed community order after admitting sexual assault and beating police officers




A woman who admitted sexually assaulting a man and beating police officers has been fined and handed a community order.

Amy Norman, 36, of Derwent Road, Bury St Edmunds, was sentenced for five offences at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

The court heard that, in Bury on March 24, she touched a man sexually without consent.

On the same day, Norman assaulted two police officers – Pc Beales and Pc Roberts.

At the same time, she used threatening or abusive words which were likely to cause alarm or distress.

Norman also admitted to failing to provide a specimen for analysis as the driver of a vehicle in Bury. As a result, she was fined £120 and banned from driving for 36 months.

For the sexual assault and assault charges, Norman was handed a community order requiring her to have treatment for alcohol dependency for nine months, while her location will be electronically monitored.

She must register with the police in accordance with the Sexual Offences Act for two years.

The court ordered Norman to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £114.
