A music-based social group for adults with learning disabilities has made ‘wonderful memories’ performing at a Suffolk college.

Mayor of Bury St Edmunds, Cllr Diane Hind, was among those who watched Good Vibes perform The Land of Good Will, at Conservatoire East - West Suffolk College, last month.

Karen Naylor from Good Vibes said: "The group has gone from strength to strength and this summer we have all relished the exciting opportunity to join with The Hal Company to devise this play.

“It has created wonderful memories that will prove long lasting for all who took part.”

The Good Vibes group has members with different challenges from learning difficulties, visual and hearing impairment through to mental and physical health issues

Good Vibes staged the play with the help of The Hal Company, a charitable incorporated organisation providing playwriting workshops with marginalised groups.

The Land of Good Will was the culmination of a 16-week workshop collaboration, featuring characters including a tiger, unicorn and a king.

Songs featured in the play included Elton John’s Can You Feel the Love tonight and What’s New Pussycat.

Playwright, director and Hal Company CEO, Danusia Iwaszko said: “The Hal Company have had a really special time creating this new play with the Good Vibes group and all their wonderful people with challenging needs, as well as their carers.

“Full of original characters, music and heart, it utterly delighted the audience at the Conservatoire East Theatre.
