LEARN MOREBury Town have completed the signing of defender Jake Kerins.
The former Shrewsbury trainee has made the switch from Mildenhall, for whom he made 47 appearances last term.
The majority of the youngster's outings in a Mildenhall shirt came in the heart of the defence, but Bury boss Ben Chenery has revealed he sees Kerins operating more as a right-back.
He told the club's website: "We are delighted that Jake has agreed to join us.
"He is a young player who has had a good education in the game at Shrewsbury, and last season was his first in the non-league game with Mildenhall and he did well for them in their first season at Step 4.
"We needed to bring in a right-back this season and he fits that position perfectly.
"He is young with a good attitude and has a bright future ahead of him and I am looking forward to him joining up with us.
"He was a player we had targeted to bring in to improve our team and I am very pleased that he wanted to be part of what we are trying to achieve at Ram Meadow."
Kerins is the third player to join Bury this summer following the recent additions of Ryan Gibbs and Ryan Horne.
