Stowmarket Town allow summer signings to move on as young midfielder returns

It has been a busy 24 hours for Stowmarket Town, who as well as bringing a midfielder back to the club, have allowed two summer signings to move on.

The Old Gold & Blacks have secured the return of George Quantrell from higher-league Dereham Town.

The former Peterborough United trialist left Stow in February of this year for the Norfolk side, for whom he has made seven appearances this term.

However, the 18-year-old is now back at Greens Meadow ahead of tomorrow's home encounter against Stanway Rovers (3pm).

Dereham boss Adam Gusterson told the club's website: "It is very disappointing that George has decided to move back to Stowmarket again.

"We have put a lot of trust in him this season and although his form has been indifferent, we understood that he is one for the future."

Charlie Clarke has left after joining from Wroxham in the summer.

Meanwhile, both Danny Cunningham and Charlie Clarke have departed the club.

The experienced Cunningham rejoined Stow from Stanway during pre-season, while attacker Clarke had come in from Wroxham.
