Wycombe Wanderers sign young midfielder Taylor Clark from Needham Market

Needham Market midfielder Taylor Clark has earned himself a professional contract with Wycombe Wanderers.

Clark, who has previously been the subject of interest from Premier League side Aston Villa, spent part of this summer on trial with Sky Bet League One outfit Wanderers.

And the 18-year-old made a marked impression on manager Matt Bloomfield and his coaching staff at Adams Park – enough to earn himself a full-time deal.

Clark’s progress is a feather in the cap of the academy set-up at Needham, which aims to provide young footballers with the chance to continue their development on the pitch alongside their academic studies.

Having made his debut for the Marketmen’s senior side at the age of just 16, Clark also recently graduated with a distinction star and two distinctions in the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport.

Sam Leslie, head of education at Needham Market Academy, said: “Taylor is an exceptional student whose talent goes beyond the pitch and is clearly demonstrated by achieving such fantastic grades from our academy. I look forward to watching Taylor’s progression at Wycombe Wanderers FC and he should be a role model for all current and future students at Needham Market Academy.”
