Relay gold for Walker-Hebborn

Chris Walker-Hebborn formed part of the British quartet that claimed gold in the mixed medley relay at the European Aquatics Championships in London last night.
Walker-Hebborn’s team-mates Adam Peaty, Siobhan-Marie O’Connor and Fran Halsall then combined to chip away at that slender Italian advantage and eventually secure the victory in a time of 3:44.56.
Italy finished second in 3:45.74, while 3:49.50 was enough for the Hungarians to snatch bronze.
It means that the British squad have successfully defended the title that they won in Berlin two years ago.
The triumph came just 80 days before the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro get underway.
