VIDEO: Mildenhall striker Bacon finishes Dream Goal runner-up
Mildenhall Town striker Chris Bacon has been named as one of five runners-up in Budweiser’s Dream Goal competition.
The frontman scored the goal in question last October while in action for Wisbech Town against Peterborough Northern Star.
With his back to goal and a defender in close proximity, Bacon chested the ball down and then unleashed a powerful volley into the roof of the net from a narrow angle.
It was not enough for him to pip the first prize from South Shields’ Warren Byrne, but judges Jamie Carragher and Jamie Redknapp deemed it worthy of one of the second-placed spots.
Bacon, who rejoined Mildenhall in February, now has £10,000 to donate to a non-league club of his choice, while he has also won a FA training session for his team.
