Walsham-le-Willows sign ex-Mildenhall Town, Stowmarket Town, Hadleigh United and Brightlingsea Regent striker George Bugg

Walsham-le-Willows have completed the signing of former player George Bugg.

The striker joined the Morrish Stadium outfit in 2017 after a 19-goal campaign for Stowmarket Town in their Thurlow Nunn League First Division title-winning season, and remained at the Willows for the following two years – in which he netted 28 goals in 41 games across all competitions.

His impressive form in Walsham colours earnt him a move to higher-league Witham Town in July 2019 before he joined to Brightlingsea Regent.

Bugg then returned back to the Old Gold Black’s, after a brief period at the club on a dual-registration deal, prior to his move to Mildenhall Town in June 2022.

After scoring 18 goals in 43 appearances for the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division outfit last season, Bugg joined Hadleigh United in the summer before moving back to Stowmarket Town.

Bugg has re-joined the Willows and is eligible to play in Saturday’s match at home to play-off chasing Downham Town (3pm).

Walsham currently find themselves 12th in the Premier Division standings and head into the weekend’s contest off the back of a stunning comeback against Hadleigh United, which Chay Budd and Ian Hubbard’s side won 3-2.
