Funeral celebrant who helps individuals and families across the district wins this year’s West Suffolk Best New Start-Up Award




A funeral celebrant who helps individuals and families through the most difficult times of their lives has won this year’s West Suffolk Best New Start-Up Award.

Craig Richardson Funeral Celebrant, based at The EpiCentre, Haverhill, won the award at the Bury Free Press West Suffolk Business Awards 2024.

Craig provides compassionate, personalised funeral and memorial services, helping families during their most challenging times.

With nearly 20 years of experience, he designs bespoke ceremonies that honour the deceased’s unique story, incorporating personal touches.

Craig also offers grief support, demonstrating a deep empathy shaped by his own experiences of loss.

His commitment to affordability and genuine care makes a significant difference in the lives of those he serves.

Richardson Funeral Services serves communities across East Anglia including Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, and Saffron Walden.

The Best New Start-UP awards is sponsored by business support organisation, MENTA.

MENTA, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary, supports businesses across the region from start-ups to those more experienced.

Based in Bury St Edmunds, MENTA now also has co-working spaces in Bury, Felixstowe, Southwold, run under its brand @Inc brand, alongside serviced offices in Bury, Haverhill and Brandon.

It offers a range of support services including workshops, mentoring and networking events.

For the start-up awards, judges were looing for businesses with big ambitions, that have been trading for less than three complete financial years.

The Bury Free Press West Suffolk Business Awards is now in it’s 13th year and has become one of the most important events in the business calendar.

More than 250 people attended the gala evening.

The awards this year is also raising money for mental health charity, Suffolk Mind.
