Bury St Edmunds cocktail bar and gin lounge, Baskerville’s in Whiting Street, set to close - but not before one last ‘fabulous’ event
The owner of an underground bar and gin lounge has thanked customers for their support is it prepares to close - but not before one last ‘fabulous’ event.
Max Baskerville, who runs Baskerville’s Underground Bar & Gin Lounge in Whiting Street, Bury St Edmunds, said the cocktail lounge will close on August 30.
She said it will continue trading until then - and tickets are selling fast for the venue’s last big event, starring drag queen, Chamonix Aspen.
Max said: “Some of you may have seen the exciting news that another local business [Meat & Greet] is set to take over our beautiful bar after the summer.
“After four years of hand-crafting beautiful cocktails, hosting evenings of entertainment and of course meeting so many wonderful people along the way, we’ve made the decision to write a new chapter and hang up our hospitality hat for a little while.
“We felt it would be best to go out with a real bang this summer before embarking on an exciting new journey and so we’d like to take a moment to say a huge THANK YOU to each and every guest that’s passed over our threshold, it has been an absolute pleasure.
“The good news is that Baskerville’s will very much be pouring your favourite tipples and hosting some fabulous events over the next couple of months.
“We can’t wait to see you!
“We will be here until August 30, so come on down. For those that want to give Baskerville's a send off, Chamonix Aspen will be here for our final knees up.”
