Which Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Lowestoft restaurants are in the top five in Suffolk, according to Tripadvisor




On the back of the popular Eat Out to Help Out scheme, foodies are coming back to Suffolk restaurants.

Covid-19 has provided an unprecedented challenge for the hospitality industry and eateries around the county are keen to attract customers back through their doors.

And according to Tripadvisor, there is plenty of choice of places to eat now that lockdown restrictions have eased.

While the user review website is not the final word on which restaurant is best, it does offer some comparison towards customer satisfaction. Interestingly, there is a wide variety of cuisines that make up the top five with Indian, French, fish and Greek restaurants all featuring in the best of list, while a traditional tea room is also included.

Here are the top five rated of 1,506 restaurants listed for Suffolk. Data was taken on September 2 and is based entirely on how the restaurants are ranked.

The Lowestoft Tandoori, High Street, Lowestoft : Rated 5.0 from 863 reviews.

An ‘excellent’ vegetarian menu has helped this Indian, Asian, Balti, and Bangladeshi restaurant claim top place. Of the 863 reviews, 811 rated it the maximum five stars.

Reviewers said the Tandoori had ‘great vegetarian options’ and ‘never fails to disappoint’.

Recent customers described their experience as ‘delightful’, with many commenting on the scenic location next to the Abbey in Bury St Edmunds.
